Svingen was built between 1936 & 1938 and was once a shoe factory in the early 1940's, it was then converted to a guesthouse for a period in the late 1970s. The last guest to stay was around 1987. After many years as a family home we purchased the house and reopened some areas as a unique, informal and friendly guesthouse.
The house is full of period and antique furniture, many pieces are in the mid century modern style. We also have some leftovers from its time as a shoe factory, even an original pair of shoes made in the house.
The word Svingen means "the bend, turn or swing" the house is situated on a bend in the road of a beautiful bay called Vikji.
